Czech Referendum law

The Czech government also considered today the variant under which a constitutional law that requires agreement of three fifth of deputies and senators would be declared on every particular case.

The chosen variant will only require the agreement of an absolute majority of votes in both houses of parliament.

The Czech Republic has held a national referendum only once. It was in 2003 when citizens were deciding about the country’s EU entry.
